Cheers to the freakin’ Weekend!

The last few weeks [at work] I’ve felt like Gumby. Stretched beyond capacity and completely overworked. It’s impacted my sleep, my workouts and my frame of mind. So after another trying week, I was all too excited to welcome the weekend and blow off steam and while busy, it was just what I needed.

Highlights include:

A Moscow mule party – hosted by a coworker and fellow carpooler in the most spacious NYC apartment I have EVER seen in my entire life. His Moscow mules were pretty damn good and the company was fantastic.

Time with Mana – After the Moscow mule party, I jetted downtown to see a former co-worker who happened to be in town for work and was leaving the next morning. Mana and I bonded over our mutual dislike of a work situation we were in at my last company and really leaned on each other to get through. We actually ended up leaving the company on the same exact day; however, we head to opposite coasts. While I don’t get to talk to her all the time, I love that we can pick up right where we left off. And in true Mana form, I show up at this swanky hotel in Meatpacking with a line wrapped around the building and within 30 seconds she pulled me right through all that craziness because she has clout in every.single.city. Geez.

#CelebratingVivi – One of dearest friends from business school celebrated another birthday and I was excited to be able to celebrate her this year. We spent the day on the LES, having a fantastic 20 person brunch at Rayuela (yummy sangria), sang until we were horse at a mid-day karaoke session and ended the night with the most beautiful views of NYC at Above Allen. For a crystal clear day, the rooftop wasn’t packed at all and the DJ was on fire, catering to us and our group the entire time.

Happy birthday Vivian!

Getting “snatchable” – One of my favorite Sunday activities is going to a Sunday afternoon Soul Cycle class with my favorite instructor String. After sleeping in, doing 5 heaps of laundry and catching up on Suits and Major Crimes, I grabbed my spin shoes and head to NoHo to meet my favorite “sweat and eggs” partner in crime, Karen for another tough yet exhilarating classes with Soul’s finest. Soul has a lot of great instructors but String is by far my favorite because of his beguiling expressions (e.g. “on point”, “get snatched”, “you’re officially STRUNGover”) and his fabulous taste in music, which make his challenging classes fun, fresh and more like a dance party than a spin class. Not to mention, after “Sunday Service”, he serves you Prosecco or Sangria, appropriately named Stringria.

After class, I had brunch with Karen and head home to put away the rest of my laundry, eat dinner and get ready for the work week. So in sum, I had one workout, way too much to drink (and probably eat, too), lots of laughs, dancing and Vitamin D which was the perfect remedy to get me in the right frame of mind to tackle this week.

Also notable: My friend had a beautiful baby boy, the weather was what dreams are made of, I donated to ALS [no time to actually dump the bucket of ice on my head] and I ran into my Run Club buddy Liz at spin. All in all, fabulous weekend. Thankfully, I don’t have a case of the Mondays; it’s only a 4 day week for me as I’m heading to Maryland for my bestie’s baby shower. Quality time with Mom and my Cane girls is guaranteed to be a fun time.

Hope you all have a fantastic week!

What did you do over the weekend?
