Southwest Daze

Greetings and salutations from Arizona, friends! Today will be a quick post but I had to stop in and say hello from desert country.

Beck and I landed in Phoenix on Wednesday morning despite the crazy United computer glitch. Since we had to wait for Linds and Antoinette, we decided to grab the rental car and head to breakfast at Lolo’s Chicken and Waffles. I know, rough life.

Once the other half of our cactus crew arrived, we made the two hour trip to Sedona to start our southwest summer adventure.

Sedona is fantastic, with dry temps of 80-90 degrees. So far we’ve enjoyed our stay and my hair agrees. The highlight of our trip was yesterday where we had a fabulous full day tour that started in Sedona, led us through Flagstaff, Coconino National Forest, Tuba City, Navajo country and ended with the most fabulous sunset views of the Grand Canyon. I have to say it’s been all I could have hoped for and more. It’s so vast and so beautiful and quite frankly I’m just in awe staring at all the beauty of God’s work. Since they say pictures are worth a thousand words, here you go:

The girls are off on a morning hike which given my foot issues, I decided to pass on. But don’t feel bad for me — I’m about to grab a cup of coffee and head down to the pool to do a little reading. Once the girls get back, we’re going to pack it up and get on the road to Vegas where we will start the second leg of our journey and celebrate #40yearsofChickn (our friend Kris).

Cactus crew out!
